A developing nor’easter could dump as much as a foot of snow across New York and New Jersey on Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.
After a sunny day, rain is expected to begin Tuesday night and turn to snow shortly after midnight, meteorologist Faye Morrone said.
“By the morning commute, it should be snowing everywhere,” Morrone said.
Snow will continue throughout the day and start to taper off Wednesday night, she said.
The NWS issued a winter storm warning, which will begin at 10 p.m. Tuesday and last through 4 a.m. Thursday.
Between 6 and 10 inches of snow could accumulate throughout the city. North of the city could see up to 12 inches, Morrone said.
The forecast for Thursday and Friday is partly sunny with temperatures in the low 40s, the NWS said.
