On Israel’s Memorial Day, shluchim, chassidim, and bochurim from across the country visited military cemeteries nationwide, bringing comfort and inspiration to those gathered, with special assistance from the Security Forces Division of Tzeirei Agudas Chabad.
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Offen, the shliach to the Israel Defense Forces and the broader security forces, described the powerful atmosphere.
“The awakening among the Jewish people—and among the soldiers, commanders of the IDF, and members of the security and rescue forces—is tremendous,” he said. “The faith in the miracles and wonders that Hashem performed for us in the ‘War of the Roaring Lion’ has brought about a powerful awakening.
“Especially in the mitzvah of putting on tefillin, about which it is said, ‘And all the nations of the earth will see that the Name of Hashem is called upon you, and they will fear you.’ We saw this clearly at the cemetery on Memorial Day this year.”
