On Sunday 22 Kislev the community across the Tri-State area tuned in to the 22nd Annual Chanukah Telethon. This yearly broadcast is a beacon of ‘Yiddishkeit’ – spreading the warmth of Torah and tradition while demonstrating the most essential quality of Judaism … helping those in need.
The Telethon is directed by Rabbi Anchelle Perl of Chabad Mineola. The Emcee was Nachum Siegel, with Co-Hosts Mickey B, Leni Goldsmith, Kive Strickoff and David Weiss.
This year, the major singing stars accompanied by the Neshomoh Orchestra, took center stage on behalf of the Mineola Chabad’s outstanding array of social service programs. The VIP entertainment included David Gabay, Avrohom Rosenblum and Blessings Offer. Young entertainers included the Frisch School Jazz Band, Shira Opher, Iron Chef Eitan Bernath and the Dancing Rabbis.
With the Nassau County Executive Hon Edward Mangano, special honors were presented to Berel Neumark, Jonathon Kroll, Joseph Strassman, Richard Austein, Tova Ackerman, Larry Weiss, Adam Weiss, Justin Schwartz and Warren and Joyce Glick. They were joined by Steven Greenberg, Jerry Gedacht and John Allen, leaders in the entertainment industry, civic and corporate communities.
Not only did the Dancing Rabbis uplift the audience with their simcha, they thrilled everyone with an On-The-Air Live Siyum HaRambam that was being celebrated the night of the Telethon around the world!
