Following the NBA lockout, where regular season games were cancelled due to failed negotiations between the NBA and the players, basketball fans throughout the country were unsure if there would be a season this year at all.
Still, organizers of the annual Jewish Heritage Night at Heat games in Miami, Rabbis Chaim Lipskar, Eli Lipskar, Alex Kaller and Pinny Andrusier, were determined that this year, as always, the light of Chanukah would be brought to thousands of sports fans.
Finally, opening night was on the 8th night of Chanukah, just in time for a grand Chanukah party. The sell out crowd of fans who turned out for the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics game were greeted by a Menorah lighting ceremony and a halftime Chanukah concert was held on the East Plaza.
The Heat, of course, won against the Celtics, with the light of the Menorah propelling them to 3-0.

Go Celtics!
Rabbi Pinny is the best shliach ever!
How many Shluchim were directly instructed by our Rebbe to go on shlichus in the tof shin nuuns. Only Pinny, the same person who is responsible for bringing the light and joy of Yiddishkeit to hundreds of 1000s.
I remember when he took a bottle of vodka for a kick off and he made the Rebbe smile , and he continues to do so
When you have someone who breaths ahavas yisroel it is inspiring not just for the packed stadium bu for t all of klal yisroel. The real winner in every game is pinny!!!!
