For the past 13 years, CGI Poconos has been a beacon of Jewish inspiration, welcoming girls from around the world to an immersive summer experience filled with joy, growth, and connection. Founded in 2012, CGI Poconos has hosted over 800 campers from 26 states and 8 countries, igniting a lifelong passion for Yiddishkeit in each girl who passes through its gates.
Now, the camp is thrilled to announce the launch of Beyond the Bunk, a biweekly publication dedicated to sharing the extraordinary stories of transformation that take place at CGI Poconos. This initiative aims to connect the camp community and its supporters by showcasing the powerful experiences that define camp life.
Each edition of Beyond the Bunk will feature the journey of a camper who took her camp experience and, whether through small mitzvos or life-changing decisions, helped build a strong Jewish future. These stories showcase the impact of Jewish overnight camp and its lasting influence on the lives of Jewish girls and their families. “Every camper leaves CGI Poconos with a unique story that embodies the spirit of growth and connection,” said Gershon Sandler, Executive Director of CGI Poconos, “We are excited to share these stories and celebrate the journeys of our incredible campers.”
Camp is more than just an unforgettable summer—it is a catalyst for lifelong growth. Through exciting activities, meaningful friendships, and a deeply immersive Jewish environment, CGI Poconos provides campers with the tools and confidence to strengthen their connection to Yiddishkeit. Beyond the Bunk will highlight these powerful transformations, bringing the camp family and supporters closer to the impact they help create.
Published biweekly, Beyond the Bunk is the perfect read to uplift and inspire your Shabbos. Whether a camper, parent, supporter, or friend of CGI Poconos, this initiative offers a meaningful way to stay connected to the spirit of camp all year round. “We no longer want to keep these incredible stories a secret,” said Rabbi Moshe Browd, Director of Operations at CGI Poconos, “They highlight the Rebbe’s teachings about the transformative power of camp, and we want to share them with our community, Shluchim, and supporters of CGI Poconos.”
Everyone is invited to join this journey and experience the power of Jewish camp through the voices of its campers. The first edition of Beyond the Bunk features Jessica’s incredible story—a journey of discovery, growth, and leadership that began with a summer at CGI Poconos.
These stories are a testament to the impact of CGI Poconos. We can’t wait to share them every other week! To read the first issue, click here.
