A grand Kinnus Hakhel, an intense volleyball game and sizzling pizza. The art of becoming a ‘Chosidel’, stamp collecting and a slick kayak.
All this and more were what campers enjoyed during the first week at Camp Gan Israel in Detroit.
With all the learning, farbrengens and fun you would never believe it has only been one week.
The campers arrived and were immediately absorbed into the exciting camp schedule. Davening with tremendous Chayus, intriguing learning classes, and sports were hot on the trail.
In addition to the usual programs and activities, the campers were quick to learn that camp would have many exciting events in honor of Shnas Hakhel.
The camp’s popular RC – Rambam club has the boys scrambling to receive enough stamps, earned through participation, to get prizes and gifts.
Under the guidance of camp Mashpia, Rabbi Yossi Gourarie, a new learning initiative was introduced which focuses on what it means to become a ‘Chosidel’. This is based on a description from a letter of the Frierdiker Rebbe.
All in all it has been a whirlwind of fun, learning and positive growth.
Sounds like the kids are having the most amazing summer in the most Chassidisher way possible!!!
Keep up the great work Motti.
