As part of the overall expansion of the girls’ elementary and Teen camps, CGI Detroit debuted a new 10th grade traveling camp to meet the high demand for a 10th grade program. A bus full of lucky girls will travel across Northern Michigan together with noted Shluchim and Shluchos making for the ultimate spiritual and physical experience.
The girls were greeted at DTW airport this past Tuesday and went to Friendship Circles’ ‘Soul Cafe’ where they enjoyed pizza and special cholov yisroel Starbucks drinks. The group then drove to the home base on the beautiful campgrounds in Kalkaska, MI where they unpacked, participated in meet and greet activities, received personalized travel journals to record their experiences, ate dinner and had night activity.
On Wednesday morning the girls awoke for Chassidus before Davening with smoothies and cake. After Davening they drove to Sleeping Bear National Park where they listened to ‘mashpiah in residence’ Mrs. Dobie Thaler of Milwaukee, WI give a shiur. They climbed up sand dunes, drove along a picturesque trail, stopped at scenic overlooks, and trekked along a beautiful hiking path. They finished the day in Traverse City spending the night on beautiful Lake Michigan.
The rest of the week they went alpine sliding, pottery painting, ice skating and spent a special Shabbos with Rabbi Moishy and Leah Shemtov.
The next two and half weeks have daily chassidus and smoothies, several guest shluchim and shluchos coming to farbreng, and a lot of traveling and fun in store.

Way to go MBCMers!!!!
Northern Michigan is so beautiful. I hope they make it to Macinac Island!
