Republican Candidate for Governor and Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Lieutenant Gov Candidate Julie Killian visited the Crown Heights Jewish community during Sukkos.
Molinaro and Killian both hail form the Hudson Valley, and have had warm relationships with the Chabad Rabbis in their counties and have seen the impact of the Rebbe on the wider community and the State of New York.
Though they are familiar with the overall needs and issues affecting the community, they were impressed with the influence and determination, and with the Rebbe’s influence worldwide.
One of the most important items discussed was the need for younger Jews to register and vote.
Among those in attendance were Dr. Marc Jacobson, long-time community activist, Rabbi Yossie Garelik, former chair of the CHJCC Noochie Gross, businessman and community activist Loli Hershkop, and others.
I am glad that we have these positive connections with the candidates but shouldn’t we be having a serious Voter Registration Drive so that we can actually deliver them the votes ? Maybe our true friend Jesse Hamilton would be running now if all of the community had voted .
