So many lives have been touched by programs, JGR retreats, and the JGU global community. After years of renting and transferring to numerous locations, a place to call home has been found.
This new 2-acre property will serve as the base for Jewish Girls Retreat, Jewish Girls Unite and Chabad of Southern Rensselaer County.
“We are tremendously grateful to Hashem that we have miraculously found the perfect location for all of our different programs,” said Rabbi Avraham Laber.
The recent summer retreat took place at the end of August and summer campers shared these thoughts. “JGR is such a wonderful place for girls of all backgrounds to unite and shine their light,” said Temima Rocklin. Chana Rivkah Jacks said, “I learned and grew so much from this camp.” Maya Solomon said, “Thank you for the best time of my life!” “I had a blast all my years at JGR and I keep coming back,” said Morgan Shapiro.
Tzipporah Protass remarked, “JGR is a true home away from home.” Camp waitresses ended their banquet presentation with these words, “We came expecting friends and we left with family!” A parent, Miriam Ilyayev shared, “My daughter, Daniella, had the time of her life! She inspired and was inspired herself. She came home on a high! I would love to keep it up.”
Jewish Girls Unite offers online programs and blogs to keep girls inspired and in touch throughout the year. “Our vision is to host more frequent retreats for girls, women, alumnae, and families. Please invest today in the future confident Jewish mothers of tomorrow,” said Nechama Dina Laber.
Support a home for JGR/JGU and Chabad of Southern Rensselaer County so they can close on the property in a few days.

JGR is the most incredible place for every kind of girl! The warm, happy atmosphere that the Labers create ensures that everyone feels accepted, no matter their background or level of religious observance. It’s time they have a permanent home!

Keep up the great work!
Thank you to JGR and specifically Nechama Laber for inspiring and empowering me in so many ways. I treasure this JGR family. Being part of such a shlichus is a true opportunity and blessing. What a gift to spread the light of Yiddishkeit and Chassidus in the caring and creative way that JGR and JGU does. May you continue to have much hatzlacha and nachas, from all those who have been directly or indirectly influenced by you, the Laber family– true lamplighters! With gratitude and wishes for open and revealed blessings, Shayna Mushka Saxon
