At the Shavuos Farbrengen of 5716 (1956), when the Rebbe first spoke about founding Camp Gan Israel, he explained that the word “Gan” alludes to the 53 parshiyos of the Torah, highlighting that every Jew is like a precious letter in a Sefer Torah scroll.
On Friday, 21 Av 5785 (August 15, 2025), a historic milestone took place in camp: for the first time in our 70-year history, Camp Gan Israel began writing its very own Sefer Torah in honor of our dear Rebbe and Rebbetzin.
As beloved parents, alumni, friends, and supporters of Gan Yisroel, we warmly invite you to join in this historic project by dedicating letters for yourself and your children in this Sefer Torah.
With Hashem’s help, the Torah will be completed next summer in camp with a grand Siyum and a festive celebration culminating ‘Celebration 70’, and will remain there as a lasting source of inspiration for generations to come.
