Bunch O’ Bagels, the popular Crown Heights dairy restaurant, is now under new ownership.
The long-time Crown Heights bagel shop, formerly owned by Berry Horowitz, is now owned and operated by Eli Shamalov, a resident of Queens, NY.
The dairy bagel shop and cafe, a long-time choice of local residents and visitors, closed for a few years after Covid, and reopened in 2022 with an expanded menu and after renovations.
The CHK Supervision, which will be overseeing the Kashrus of the restaurant, told COLlive.com that Shamalov “brings a strong commitment to exceptional service and the highest standards of quality for the community.”
The CHK shared that Bunch O’ Bagels is now operating under full CHK kashrus supervision, providing residents, guests, and visitors with a trusted and reliable option for kosher dining in the neighborhood.
“We extend our warmest wishes to Eli for continued success and abundant blessing in this new endeavor. May all who visit and enjoy the establishment’s offerings be blessed with health, joy, and prosperity,” they said.

You built up the business with consistent good will and great food! (When you first opened, Buncho was the only source of Hamotzi bagels in CH!)
It is clear that you treat your customers and your staff with care and respect. This — along with consistently excellent, fresh offerings on the menu — has led to Buncho’s success.
May the next chapter of your life be happy and filled with success and nachas, begashmiyus uberuchniyus, please Hashem!
I love the bunchochino
Please stay open later. I come home from work and you’re closed already. It would be nice to have a good and reasonable milchig restaurant opened for supper in Crown Heights that is not a pizza restaurant.
