Over 300 Israeli backpackers attended a public Pesach seder conducted by Chabad bochurim in the picturesque town of Pokhara in Nepal.
The Seder was one of three held in Nepal this year (the other two being in Kathmandu and Manang). Pokhara is Nepal’s second largest city and a hub for trekkers from all around the world.
Bochurim Shmully Levitin, Mordey Richler, Osher Gutnick and Shmuel Loebenstein were sent by the Merkos Shlichus program.
They traveled to Nepal to organize and prepare the Seder and conduct a temporary Chabad House which provided spiritual and physical sustenance to hundreds of Jewish tourists of many nationalities.
Hanan Goder, Israeli Ambassador to Nepal, visited the Chabad House on Sh’vii shel Pesach.
The seder and Chabad House were made possible by Rabbi Chezki and Chani Lifshitz, shluchim to Kathmandu, Nepal, and Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
