Bochurim Bring Learning Home

Starting before Pesach and continuing throughout and after the Yom Tov, Yeshiva Bochurim returning home from over 10 Yeshivos around the world, brought the Torah spirit to the Albany, NY community.

The bochurim each delivered Divrei Torah on various Pesach related topics between Mincha and Maariv each night at local Shul Cong. Shomray Torah.

As has been already the custom for quite a few years now, they published a 60 page Kovetz titled “Kel B’nay” – Albany with 15 Torah articles in Hebrew and English by Albany Maimonides Alumni and Capital Region Rabbis and Shluchim.

The Kovetz features a recently discovered Shiur from the Chief Rabbi of Montreal – Harav Hagaon R’ Pinchas Hershprung Z”l on Melachos Shabbos, written by Rabbi Yisroel Rubin, Shliach to Albany. during his days as a bochur in Tomchei Timimim Montreal – where R’ Hershprung was Rosh Yeshivah.

In addition there is a very interesting overview on Rabbi Rackman, a Talmid Chocham who served as a Rabbi in the Albany community in the 1930’s, and in fact writes about Jewish life in Albany during the 1930’s-40’s in his Hakdama to his sefer Kiryas Chana Dovid.
