In preparation for Yud Shevat, a group of Bochurim came together to create a clear English translation and explanation of this year’s Basi L’Gani.
The Basi L’Gani chosen was from 5726 (the first cycle of the Rebbe’s explanation), which explains the sixteenth chapter of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s original Ma’amer, Basi L’Gani from 5710.
The translation is aimed at enabling the English-speaking anash and Bochurim to join the Chassidim studying this year’s Basi L’Gani.
This translation was created by “Torah In English,” whose goal is to broaden access to the Rebbe’s teachings to the English-speaking crowd.
Torah In English is open to dedications and sponsorships for upcoming publications and translations.

The entire first cycle (from 5711-5730) of the famed “Basi LeGani” hemshech of the Rebbe is now available in English at Neirot.com for free download in two volumes, in honor of the upcoming 10th of Shvat. The two volumes include 32 Ma’amarim in total.

BH I’m grateful for Neirots library.
Ny problem with English chassidus materials as a whole is when translations try to follow the original word for word. Neirot seems to more or less follow this approach (don’t worry this is my problem with Sichos in English too)
The above published Basi Legani appears to have taken a less literal approach. As a result, it reads like normal English which for me is the most important part. More direct translations end up very clunky to read.
Based on your comment I’d assume you have some affiliation?
It is truly amazing to walk into 770 and see the bochurim learning Basi LeGani in English. It’s a tool that is so clearly needed. We are living in the 21st century, in America, where the language most kids are most comfortable learning in is English, and to see these boys koching in Basi LeGani with such fire and enthusiasm is absolutely beautiful. Kol Hakovad to the bochrim who took the initiative.
Very well written. A pleasure to read.
Beautiful translation. Such an amazing job! You can really tell how hard these bochurim worked, and it definitely paid off. So impressive. Kol hakavod to all of them. Such a beautiful present for the Rebbe.
Yasher Koah for your informative dissemention of the wellspring of Torah for the english speaking reader. Excellent job may you go from strength to strength
