Press release by JLI:
Combine the warmth and infectious energy of shluchim with the intensity and richness of the land of Israel, and you end up with JLI’s Land and Spirit Israel trip.
A deluxe, five-star experience for the entire family, the trip offers all of the classic Israel destinations packed into an extraordinary itinerary that covers the length and breadth of the country. Determined to provide an unparalleled experience, the tour bus ventures off the beaten path to visit some of Israel’s hidden treasures in addition to all the favorites.
JLI’s Land and Spirit trip is justifiably famous for the lineup of leading politicians and security experts it arranges to address the group. Past speakers have included the likes of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Chief Rabbi Lau, Natan Sharansky, and heads of Israel’s security establishment. Each year the trip is granted access to IDF bases to meet with Israeli soldiers on the front lines and bolster their spirits.
In true Chabad spirit, it’s not just about the land, it’s also about the learning and the community. The trip participants are a diverse group of Jews from around the world, brought together by a partnership between shluchim and JLI to form Chabad’s largest mission to Israel.
Local tour guides will weave the fascinating historical narrative that tells the story of Israel, while prompting discussions of deeper Jewish ideas that connect the participants with their spiritual heritage. Like any Chabad House, the trip welcomes Jews of all affiliations and is sensitive to the different levels of observance that they have.
Basking in the Israeli sun, walking in the footsteps of Avraham, jeeping through the Golan, and dancing at the Kotel on Friday night with your family and your close knit community from back home…this is the stuff lifetime memories are made of.
An optional Poland stopover before going to Israel has been added to the itinerary, to pay meaningful witness to our past before discovering the glory of our present.
Once the country millions of Jews called home since the 10th century, the tour will visit cities such as Warsaw, Lublin and Krakow accompanied by a host of historians. Cnfront the horrors of the Holocaust, they will visit the Auschwitz and Madanjek concentration Nazi death camps.
