Students of Bais Rivkah High School put on a moving, uplifting and educational production, with two shows taking place during Chof Beis Shevat weekend.
Through song, dance and drama, the girls showcased the story of the Chabad Chassidim escaping from Communist Russia in the aftermath of World War II.
‘Alive’ told the story of the courageous efforts of an underground network of Lubavitch chassidim who risked their lives to save Jewish families from behind the Iron Curtain.
The central story told of the famed ‘Mumeh Sara’ Katzenelenbogen, who was known for her bravery and self-sacrifice in helping hundreds of fellow Lubavitch Chassidim to obtain fake passports and escape through Poland.
The production also highlighted the privilege we have as frum Jews and as Chassidim to openly practice Yiddishkeit, which is the true joy of life.
