These past weeks have brought about a whirlwind of activity at Bais Rivkah High School where students were busy preparing for Yud Tes Kislev.
Members of the Crown Heights community are invited to explore spectacular displays about different areas of Mesiras Nefesh of long ago, and compare them to the Mesiras Nefesh we have today.
The students have been working to produce magnificent exhibits that display the concept of Mesiras Nefesh, then and now. Various topics were explored, and specific ones carefully chosen for their relevence to our daily lives.
The theme, Bechol Levavcha, Heart and Soul, compares and contrasts the Mesiras Nefesh of old to the Mesiras Nefesh of today. While the Mesiras Nefesh then required literal self-sacrifice, even to the point of giving up your life; the Mesiras Nefesh of today requires us to sacrifice our Ratzon, giving up what we really want to do for what is right for us to do.
A totally different Avodah, yet it requires the same amount of Mesiras Nefesh.
The exhibit will take place for women and girls (7th grade and up) on Motzei Shabbos at 8:00 pm.
The program includes a performance by the 8th grade, viewing of the exhibits, and guest speaker Rabbi Anchelle Perl.
At Bais Rivkah Campus Chomesh, 470 Lefferts Avenue.
Addition viewing of the exhibits will take place on Sunday
