Funds are being raised to support the family of a Chabad chossid who dedicated his life to arrange and fund the dissemination of Chassidic teachings for over 50 years.
A familiar and beloved presence in the Crown Heights community, Rabbi Meir Roness was an individual of unsurpassed warmth, sincerity and devotion who encouraged many to give to charity.
When he suddenly passed away this year, just one day after celebrating his 74th birthday, it was a shock to the community but mostly to his family who are facing tremendous financial burdens, according to a friend.
“They need basic necessities and have urgent outstanding debt,” the person said about the campaign that is endorsed by Mashpiim Rabbi Shlomo Majeski and Rabbi Pinye Korf.
“Your generous support to help the family stabilize the very difficult financial situation is most appreciated,” he said. “May you be blessed with abundant good, and be written and inscribed for a good and sweet New Year, amongst all of the Jewish people.”

R’ Meir was a real Chosid. He had real אהבת ישראל to every Jew.

I did not know exactly what he collected for. I heard about some shiurim and thought most was for himself and family. After he was niftar I was so torn to learn how much he accomplished and felt bad why I never gave him more.
