A young Rosh Yeshiva was treated this week to a unique – and useful – birthday gift.
At a farbrengen for his 40th birthday, Rabbi Moshe Orenstein was presented with a check for $40,000.
Some 40 friends and alumni of the Yeshivas Toras Menachem in Netanya, Israel, collected the sum, each contributing $1,000.
The enlarged Bank Leumi check was given to Orenstein, who heads the Yeshiva Ketana (Mesivta), thanking him for the “most important years of our life.”
Rabbi Moshe Chaim Lau, a prominent rabbi in Netanya, came to express his blessings for success.
IN ANSWER TO NUMBER 1. WHERE ARE ALL THE THOUSANDS OF STUDENTS WHO OVER 40 ODD YEARS WENT THROUGH RABBI ENGEL’S CLASS IN OHOLEI TORAH? THESE STUDENTS STILL TALK ABOUT HIM TODAY AS THE BEST REBBI THEY EVER HAD, YET, NOT THEY NOR THE SCHOOL SHOWED HIM ANYTHING OF THE SORT FOR ALL HIS YEARS OF ABSOLUTE TOTAL DEVOTION TO THE SCHOOL AND ITS STUDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES!
I learned in 3 yeshivas and one mesivta and the only place that ever send me anything in the mail is Oholei Torah. I did not enjoy the experience, however, had the others sent me an envelope, I would gladly send them a small donation.
If EVERY yeshiva alumnus would donate even a modest sum every month, it would help his yeshiva enormously
ppl should do this in every city and mossad
this is the way to help our education
we dont need big donation for big shots
I don’t know this Rabbi, but I am unbelievably touched at the HAKORAS HATOV. Moshiach Now!
Very nice! Rabbi Herson just turned 75 KA”H. Hmmmm!! Where are his buddies & Talmidim?
