Dr. Lawrence Bowman, member of the executive board of the National Council for School Accreditation (NCPSA), visited Lubavitch Headquarters in Brooklyn, NY, on Thursday.
Meeting him at 770 Eastern Parkway was Rabbi Nochem Kaplan, Director of the Merkos Chinch Office, the agency that overlooks the Chabad school network in the United States on behalf of Merkos L’inyonei Chinuch.
Together, Dr. Bowman and Rabbi Kaplan reviewed in detail all the Chabad schools that had been accredited over the last 5 years and discussed the processes and records of the Accreditation Board.
Also discussed were the plans for upcoming Kinus Hamechanchim, the yearly Educators Conference for Chabad principals and teachers of boys schools that will be held on Sunday and Monday, 1-2 Tammuz 5774 / June 29-30, 2014 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Danbury, CT.
Rabbi Kaplan reported that a dedicated committee of educators and school directors have been hard at work for weeks to ensure that this year’s conference will address the major issues and concerns facing schools today.
The array of outstanding presenters who will address the Kinus, will be announced in the coming weeks, he said, adding that the conference will be “attended by the largest group yet of Chabad educators from across the county.”
