New York State officials attened Wednesday a dedication ceremony of the Robert Abrams building for law and justice in Albany.
Abrams, a Bronx Jew and Democratic politician, was the New York State Attorney General for 16 years.
The Abrams family were warmly greeted by the Govenor David Paterson and other Albany politicians and activists.
In his remarks, Rabbi Yisroel Rubin, Director of Chabad Albany, mentioned Abrams’ close connection with the Rebbe and his regular visits to 770 and Farbrengens.
Abrams, a partner today at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan, was honored a few times with lighting the largest Menora in the world on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan.
His wife Diane Abrams of Brown Harris Stevens addressed the 2006 International Kinus Hashluchos in New York.
“The Rebbe himself had no children, yet he gave so many people blessings for children. We are all his children,” she said then.
