A very inspiring Shabbos of the Midwest Regional Kinus Hashluchim came to an end last night, Motzoei Shabbos, with participants watching the Rebbe’s address to the International Kinus Shluchim in 5750.
40 Shluchim from the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Illinois and Wisconsin spent some 24 hours learning, davening, farbrenging and sharing their feeling and thoughts about their mission.
The host, Detroit’s Head Shliach Rabbi Berel Shemtov opened the Shabbos with remarks to all the Shluchim and Mesivta bochurim gathered for kabolas Shabbas.
“I have no rational explanation on how Shlichus went from becoming the most resisted concept by chassidim, to now the most coveted position a yungerman can dream of,” he said. “We are all walking miracles.”
The Friday night meal turned into a Chassidic farbrengen that lasted till 4 AM with Shachris davening beginning on schedule. Skokie, IL Shliach Rabbi Yosef Posner gave an in-depth shiur after Musaf.
The Shluchim davened Mincha and then began the Shabbos day farbrengen, which started at 3 PM and went on until the end of Shabbos.
Speakers included Rabbis Yisroel Shmotkin, Yosef Samuels, Yona Matusof, Leima Wilhelm, Aron Goldstein, Benzion Stein, Aryah Kaltman, Yitzchok Mann and Levi Stern.
The guests were very impressed with the exceptional organization, and the warm environment felt throughout the whole Shabbos.
They thanked Rabbi Shemtov and special mention was made to Rabbi Yisrael Pinson and his wife Devorah Leah, Shluchim in West Bloomfield, for the time and energy that they invested in making the kinus a success.
Sunday is the final day of the regional kinus with a full schedule of sessions and discussion.
Priceless!
