The Talmidim of Oholei Torah 7th grade gathered for a wedding-like event on Wednesday night celebrating 94 years since the Rebbe married Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka. The event was arranged by their Shluchim from Oholei Torah Zal.
Hosted in the Oholei Torah wedding hall with a wedding band formed of Bochurim from Zal, including a keyboardist, guitar player and violinist together, and a deluxe catered meal, the Talmidim really felt they were at a wedding.
A special video presentation was put together for this event with a sicha of the rebbe and interviews of people’s first hand accounts of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s wedding back in 5689.
Followed by the Guest Speaker Rabbi Shmuli Butler, who gave the Talmidim an in-depth understanding and appreciation with some unknown history and facts about Yud Daled Kislev and the Rebbe’s Chavivus for this day, and how much it means to a Chossid in Dor hashvi’i.
Rabbi Butler also showed the Talmidim the Original First edition Kuntres Drushei Chasuna printed in Riga 1929. Which has in it the Mamarim said by the Fridiker Rebbe at the wedding.
The Talmidim then broke out in spontaneous dancing with classic wedding music led by singer Rabbi Levi Sasonkin.
“It really was a very special event with every Talmid enjoying and reliving the Rebbe’s anniversary and walking out with a true understanding of the uniqueness and special quality of Yud Daled Kislev,” said Shliach Tzvi Tiechtel.
The bochurim thanked Principal Rabbi Yehoshua Lustig and the staff of Oholei Torah for helping us make this vision a reality.
The event was organized by the 7th grade Shluchim:
