With less than two weeks remaining until Yud Shvat, Anash around the world have begun preparing through focused learning of this year’s Basi Legani maamarim. This year marks the sixteenth year of the cycle, corresponding to Perek Tes Zayin of the Frierdiker Rebbe’s Basi Legani. The Rebbe’s maamarim of 5726 and 5746, based on this Perek, serve as the focus of the learning.
Basi Legani holds a unique place in Chabad. In the weeks leading up to Yud Shvat, a palpable sense of anticipation grows as Yeshivos, Shiurim, and Chavrusos shift their focus toward its study.
Over the past three years, Seder Dach has emerged as a central address for this endeavor. Through its dedicated BasiLegani770.com, a comprehensive framework has been developed to support serious limud. At the heart of this effort is a one-of-a-kind Kovetz which brings together mareh mekomos, original transcripts of the maamarim, the cited Torah of the Rabbeim, and supplemental resources – equipping the learner with everything necessary for a clear, thorough understanding of the year’s Basi Legani. This is complemented by a rich collection of kisvei yad, hanachos, biurim, zichronos, and other materials related to the maamarim, providing additional context and perspective to the Rebbe’s words.
The platform also offers an extensive library of shiurim delivered by over thirty maggidei shiur from across the globe. Available in English, Hebrew, and Yiddish, these classes accommodate various learning styles and are easily accessible online. This includes shiurim delivered in 770 by Rabbi Shloime Zarchi, Rabbi Michoel Golomb, Rabbi Shloime Kaplan, and Rabbi Shmuly Avtzon, accessible via YouTube, Spotify, and major podcast platforms.
Beyond the website, an annual highlight is the dedicated WhatsApp group, where members engage directly with Mashpi’im in ongoing discussions regarding the Basi Legani maamarim. This forum connects Chassidim around the world, creating a shared atmosphere of preparation for Yud Shvat.
The impact of this program is most evident in 770 itself. Seder Chassidus in 770 is alive with bochurim learning Basi Legani, alongside multiple weekly shiurim that have become part of the ongoing seder. This momentum has also carried beyond 770, with hundreds of copies already distributed to yeshivos and shuls worldwide.
While the current focus is on Basi Legani, Seder Dach provides a structured curriculum in 770 throughout the year. With multiple tracks covering a wide range of topics, the program gives bochurim and Anash a reliable framework for their daily Limud Hachassidus.
May our collective learning of Basi Legani hasten the coming of Moshiach, and may we merit to hear a new maamar from the Rebbe this year.
