For the 6th time, Igud Talmidei Hakvutzah handed out monetary scholarships to students of the Central Yeshiva Tomchei Tmimim Lubavitch at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights this week.
The “Yissachar and Zevulun Project” encourages bochurim to adhere to learning regimens and schedules following which they receive stipends worth thousands of dollars.
“With the incentive of their gashmius needs provided for, this allows them to focus on their learning wholeheartedly,” organizers said. “The purpose of the project is so that every bochur can invest all his energy in studying the Torah without having to worry about the basic living needs on his own.”
Last week, bochurim were tested on what they learned over the month of Nissan and this week the ones who excelled were given the stipends.
