Over four hundred men and women filled the halls of the Lubavitch Center Monday to hear former Israeli diplomat Yehudah Avner at a memorial for the Rebbe.
The Ambassador brought special greetings and words of strength to one of the world’s largest Chabad communities – Pittsburgh – from Israel, where he is a member of the foreign office.
The evening was organized by Rabbi Yisroel Altein, who arranged for a special luncheon for the sponsors of the event with Mr. Avner, were he discussed current political events in Israel and the world. The event was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Zev Rudolph at their residence.
The head shliach Rabbi Yisroel Rosenfeld introduced the Ambassador and spoke highly of his speech at the kinus Hashluchim, which was so effective this year with motivating the thousands of Shluchim around the world.
During his speech Mr. Avner once again admired the effect and reach of the Rebbe, that he did have and does have today with the Chabad-Lubavitch Institutions around the world.
