There’s a new Kovetz out, but this one’s not just lying around.
In preparation for Gimmel Tammuz, the Vaad Hatmimim launched a campaign aimed at properly understanding the idea of what the concept of a Rebbe is.
The mivtza started over a week ago, and by now hundreds of bochurim in Chabad Yeshivos worldwide have involved themselves in the learning of these fundamental topics.
The learning is out of the newly printed Kovetz “Rosh Alfei Yisroel” which is broken into four topics with 2 sichos in each. The kovetz includes introductions and summaries for each sicha, in Hebrew and English.
Sichos of the Rebbe in the mivtza were specifically chosen by a group of Mashpiim, including the Rebbe’s choizer Rabbi Yoel Kahn.
Over 2000 bochurim participated in the first test, to be followed by 3 more. High achievers were entered into a raffle for many prizes. In addition, every Bochur who achieved a 90% average or above on the tests will receive a sefer.
Each week’s test and raffles are independent of the others, to allow late-comers to still take part. “Our goal was to make this Mivtza as accessible as possible to all,” explained one of the bochurim involved in making the Kovetz.
But the true drive for every bochur’s participation in this Mivtza, is knowing he will come to Gimmel Tammuz with a clearer understanding of Hiskashrus. To quote one Bochur, “the prizes are great, but it’s learning these topics that excites me most.”
The winners of this week’s raffles:
