On Sunday evening, November 16, 2025 (25 Mar Cheshvan), immediately following the International Kinus Hashluchim Banquet, thousands will gather on Eastern Parkway in front of 770 for the celebration of the completion and dedication of the 11th General Unity Sefer Torah, written at the Rebbe’s initiative to unite the Jewish people as one.
The event will begin at Oholei Torah hall at 6:30 pm with a Tahalucha to 770 at 7:30 pm, and will feature a full orchestra, popular singers, and a joyous procession bringing together shluchim, families, and guests from around the world.
The previous, 10th Unity Torah, was completed during the recent war in Israel’s south, in the communities near the Gaza border and in Ofakim. Since then, thousands of new names have been added, including soldiers, families of hostages, and Jews from across the globe, all joining together in this new Torah of unity.
Just before being transported to New York for the Siyum by Rabbi Schneur Oirechman, Director of Chabad of the Florida Panhandle, letters were written on the Gaza border by IDF soldiers who are fighting on the front lines to protect Israel for the past two years. The visits were organized by Rabbi Eliyahu Gutman of Ezer Lachayal.
Also honored with one of the final letters was Michael Malchieli, a member of the Knesset and Minister of Religious Affairs.
Chabad Shluchim worldwide have taken an active role in the effort to complete this 11th Torah, with special recognition to the Chabad representatives at JFK Airport, whose heartfelt dedication enabled countless travelers to participate in this unique mitzvah and join their fellow Jews in the writing of the Torah.
The final letters will be written in the Oholei Torah Hall, followed by a children’s parade with local students and young shluchim marching joyfully toward 770 for the main celebration on Eastern Parkway. The evening will conclude with dancing, music, and the Torah’s grand entry into Beis Rabbeinu Shebebavel.
Organizers recall the Rebbe’s words at the completion of the first Unity Torah, encouraging that the ceremony take place “where the greatest number of people can attend,” and emphasizing the importance of every Jew’s participation in these historic completions of the General Unity Sifrei Torah.
The Crown Heights Badatz Rabbonim Rabbi Avraham Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Braun have issued a letter to the community, urging all to participate in the grand Siyum on Sunday evening. Below is their letter:
We hereby address all members of our community with this letter of blessing, encouraging everyone to take part in the celebration of the completion of the 11th Unity Sefer Torah, which, with Hashem’s help, will be brought with great honor and joy into the Rebbe’s house — 770 Beis Rabbeinu Shebebavel — on Sunday night, 25 MarCheshvan.
The significance of this Sefer Torah — which unites all Jews and brings protection and salvation — is well known, especially in light of the Rebbe’s sichos. Participation in this endeavor, both physically and financially, is considered a great mitzvah for all who take part.
May it be Hashem’s will that this event hasten and bring about the complete revelation of Moshiach Tzidkeinu, speedily in our days — truly now.
