After 241 days in the hospital, Rabbi Yudi Dukes, who has miraculously survived a fierce battle with COVID 19, has been released from the hospital today and is heading home to his family.
After 8 months, Dukes has made a historic recovery after being one of the longest hospitalized COVID patients in the world.
Before even heading home, Yudi, accompanied by his wife Sarah, made a stop at the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, to say an emotional prayer of thanks to Hashem for his recovery and place a pan note at the Ohel.
As he approached the Ohel, Rabbi Dukes was greeted by Chasidim and Shluchim, and co-workers from Merkos 302.
They broke out in a joyous dance as they celebrated with Yudi on his recovery.
On his return to his home in the Five Towns, NY, Yudi was greeted by a crowd of joyous family and friends, who answered amen to his heartfelt blessing of “Shehechiyanu.”
“Every breath that I have now is only because of the Davening, and all the Tzedaka, and everything that you have done for me, and all I can say is, thank you for bringing me to this day,” Yudi said.

Tears of joy. May the refua Sheleima be IMMEDIATE.
The tears of joy and thanks are just flowing.
This is amazing news
Very inspiring to see a chosid going to the Rebbe before going home.
Very inspiring to see how many people are using masks. I’m betting that not everyone wearing a mask is convinced that they are helpful, but the fact that they are being worn shows solidarity with and respect for the Rabbi and each other. Thank you.
Refua shelaima ukarova!
