Head staff and staff of YSP Morristown and lifeguards of CGI Parksville took part in a first aid training course, learning CPR, choking and automated external defibrillator use.
The course was given under the auspices of Crown Heights resident Yossi Malamud, a Hatzalah volunteer for close to 20 years.
Malamud was inspired to begin giving the life-saving courses 3 years ago after arriving to a Hatzalah call where a child was in respiratory arrest from choking, and although there were many people there, none had any idea what to do in the critical moments.
Malamud trained as a certified instructor with Robby Lederman of Madison Programs, and in the past 3 years, he and a team of instructors have offered training to thousands of students in dozens of schools around the Tri-State area.
Following each training session, each participant receives an Official American Heart Association certification.

Can these classes be made available on a regular basis?
Call Yossi Malamud. He does this all the time
Yossi volunteers to teach these classes. Many times he covers the costs out of his own pocket. He’s a tzaddik!!
