As the annual Chabad Club @ YU Shabbaton rapidly approaches, the momentum of its impactful programs continues to inspire and unite students on and off campus.
One such moment of inspiration took place recently at the Siyum HaRambam held in the Shenk Shul in Manhattan. This event not only celebrated the scope of the Rambam in covering the entire Torah but also reinforced the Chabad Club’s commitment to fostering connection, education, and awareness of Chassidishe values.
The Shabbaton, building off of the excitement of many such initiatives, enables the Chabad Club team to expand their reach, engaging more and more students through programs such as the weekly learning initiative with OT bochurim and more.
When the team realized that the actual day of the Siyum Harambam fell on Thursday, they felt a need to do something special. While the Rebbe repeatedly encouraged the Central Siyum, pushing it to ever greater heights, he also wanted Siyumim to be held in as many locations as possible with the goal of inspiring ever greater numbers of people to join the daily learning of Rambam.
With the conclusion of the program on Thursday night, rosh chodesh adar, silence filled the room.”יסוד היסודות ועמוד החכמות לידע שיש שם מצוי ראשון והוא ממציא כל הנמצאים,” Bochur Mendel Roth began the Rambam, commencing another cycle of Kol Hatorah Kulah.
The Parshas Teruma program featured a siyum Rambam by Nochum Rosenblum from Caracas, Venezuela, a Haschala by Mendel Roth from Baltimore, MD, and organizer Dovber Yarmove from Chicago, IL, who Chazered from the Rebbe’s Sichos about Rambam. The Siyum was followed by spontaneous dancing.
Looking ahead, the students are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Shabbaton in Crown Heights, where they will have the opportunity to further strengthen their connection with the Rebbe and Chassidus. As they prepare for this meaningful weekend, we ask you to consider supporting the organization’s mission by contributing to our ongoing fundraiser. Your generous donation will help ensure that programs like these continue to thrive, inspiring the next generation of students to engage deeply with Torah and Chassidus.
