Yeshiva Schools of Pittsburgh held its 68th annual fundraising dinner on May 31, 2012 at the Western Convention Center.
The theme of this year’s dinner was “Good To Grow” marking the impact that Lubavitch of Western PA has had in PA and around the world.
In this vein, Yeshiva honored Tom Corbett, Governor of Pennsylvania for his support of education and job growth across the state.
The dinner drew over 600 guests with many elected officials including the Mayor and a former Mayor of Pittsburgh, the Allegheny County Executive and City Councilmen.
Many local prominent businesses and corporations showed their support of Yeshiva by advertising in the Journal and purchasing corporate tables.
Shlomo Jacobs, the Yeshiva Schools co-president, pointed out the tremendous influx of new families to Western PA due to the excellence of education offered at Yeshiva.
The highlight of the evening was the professional Yeshiva Boys’ Choir performance directed by Rabbi Y. Rosenblum, principal of the Yeshiva Boys’ School.
Rabbi Yisroel Rosenfeld, Dean of Yeshiva Schools thanked the Governor for his tireless efforts on behalf of the children of PA.
Bill Rudolph, Chairman of the Board of Yeshiva Schools, presented the Governor with a plaque and the Governor responded with much gratitude for this special recognition and acknowledged his deep respect for all the accomplishments of the Yeshiva Schools and its thousands of graduates who are having an effect on the local community, the state, the country and even the world!
