Parents and teachers of Lubavitch Yeshiva of Crown Heights joined a gala dinner event on Motzei Shabbos, celebrating the school’s dedicated teachers and staff.
The elegant evening at Razag Ballroom included musical entertainment by renowned pianist Yaron Gershovsky, accompanied by violinist Yonasan Rothman and the Lubavitcher Yeshiva Boys Choir, performing beautiful Niggunim and setting the mood for an inspiring and uplifting Melava Malka.
Renowned lecturer and author Rabbi Shais Taub spoke about the excellent Chinuch provided at Lubavitch Yeshiva, remarking how each child is special and appreciated, resulting in each student excelling and shining in their way.
A series of videos shown during the evening showcased the Yeshiva’s unique approach to education, their varied and multi-faceted curriculum, and exciting and motivational extra-curricular programs, bringing out the best in each student.
A highlight of the evening was a special award given to Rabbi Shmarya Katzen, veteran Pre-1A Rebbe at the Yeshiva for over 40 years.
Rabbi Katzen was presented with a photo of him receiving Kos Shel Bracha from the Rebbe, by Principal Rabbi Yosef Simpson.
A tribute video included interviews with fellow teachers and past students of Rabbi Katzen, who told of the great impact he has had on over 4 decades of students k”ah.

Thank you Rabbi Katzen to your years of dedication and commitment to our children! My sons have had phenomenal Rebbe’s at ULY crown street, however, we have been disappointed the past few years to see some of our favorites go. Please keep your good teachers!
