Tonight, Rabbi Yossi Paltiel, a well known educator and teacher of Chassidus, will present a video webcast on the Weekly “Chassidisheh Parsha,” from Torah Or, with stories and practical examples.
The class, on the Maamar Vayikach Haman, is the first of a three part series on a Purim maamar of the Alter Rebbe. It underscores the need for a good, healthy ego if you want to build a true relationship with G-d. You can’t start serving Hashem if you do not believe in yourself.
This is a fascinating Maamar which explains the delicate interplay between egotism and selflessness in our service of Hashem. It is a topic of great confusion to many students of Chassidus who often believe that they have to be “nothing.” In this maamar the Alter Rebbe explains how the ego is like the husk which protects the wheat stalk from getting burnt by the sun or destroyed by the rain.
thank you so much
