Worcester Girls Join for Shabbat

Bais Chana girls from 7th Grade through Grade 12 participated in a very special Shabbaton with other girls from the New England area. Some may consider it rare to have such a broad range of ages gather together in such wholehearted enjoyment. What may be considered an unusual gathering, developed into a fun, and unifying bonding and learning experience for the Bais Chana Girls High School in Worcester.

The program was organized by the Shabbaton Committee of the high school and was directed by two accomplished graduates of Bais Chana who are now teachers in theprogram, Mushky Blotner and Rochie Shaw.

A group of close to 30 girls traveled to Natick by train and spent Shabbos at the Chabad House in Natick, Mass, which is under the direction of Rabbi Levi Fogelman, who is also a teacher in the high school.

It was a Shabbos of absolute unity, singing, praying, and laughing together as if they were one class. The girls ended the Shabbaton with nigunim and a class on Pirkei Avot in the home of Mrs. Fogelman of Natick, who was warm and inspiring.

Bais Chana High School in Worcester is known for its warm family atmosphere and a Chassidishe group of girls that make others feel welcomed and inspired.

Principal Chanie Fogelman of Worcester has developed a program which teaches each individual girl the necessary skills to become leaders in the world. It is practiced in the school setting so that upon graduation our girls are shining models in the world.
