This Rosh Chodesh Kislev, the Rosh Chodesh Society launches its newest course, A Reason to Celebrate: Illuminating Our Lives through the Jewish Holidays.
The international Jewish sisterhood that aims to empower, inform, and inspire women through Jewish learning is a division of the Rohr Jewish Learning Institute (JLI).
Slated to run in over 150 locations across the globe, A Reason to Celebrate is a meaningful, personal and spiritual journey through special days on the Jewish calendar.
Through exploring the deeper, mystical significance of these days, they become lenses through which participants will gain insight into their relationships and identities as Jewish women, and catalysts that empower them to implement positive change in their lives.
The course will be taught once per month for seven consecutive months and is designed for women at all levels of Jewish knowledge.
Among the diverse set of topics discussed are the relevance of Judaism in a modern age; understanding and coping with pain and suffering; living a wholesome life despite internal fragmentation and conflict; Judaism’s view of femininity; discovering and actualizing one’s personal mission in life; the true meaning of freedom and how to attain it; and timeless wisdom encoded in the Ten Commandments that changes the way we view our relationships and our world.
“Some of my earliest and most powerful childhood memories are bound to the festivities that heralded the arrival of the Jewish holidays. These special celebrations are the inspiration behind our new course, A Reason to Celebrate,” explains Rosh Chodesh Society director Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson.
“To sense the anticipation, to taste the meaning, to feel the joy of the Jewish holidays—this is Jewish living at its best. This course will allow thousands of Jewish women to live this experience. It’s our best course yet.”
“I encourage all shluchos to take advantage of this incredible opportunity that RCS offers to bring this beautiful, professional women’s adult education program to their communities,” says Mrs. Chani Lipskar, shlucha to Surfside/Bal Harbour, Florida.
“My women have been ‘wowed’ and have walked away from the classes transformed. I cannot say enough about the highly professional standards of RCS’s curriculum and marketing materials and the support they provide to the shluchos every step of the way.”
The seven sessions will draw from a broad spectrum of mystical, classical, and contemporary Jewish texts, providing intellectually stimulating and inspiring sessions for women of all ages and walks of life.

Col I want to thank you for giving me the chance to say a public yasher koach to JLI and Mrs. Shaindy Jacobson for making this possible. This womens program is a present for my communities ladies and for… Read more »
