Women in the Worcester community joined for an inspiring Vov Tishrei Melava Malka on Motzei Shabbos, sponsored by N’Shei Chabad leaders, Bassie Levin and Miriam Phillips at the home of Chani Fogeman. The theme of the evening was inspiration, unity, and simcha, and it certainly proved to be just that.
The highlight of the evening was a talk delivered by eminent shlucha, Rebbetzin Rochele Fogelman. She interwove her remarks with personal experiences that she shared with Rebbetzin Chana. Mrs. Fogelman spoke about the life of mesiras nefesh that Rebbetzin Chana led, and she explained to the very attentive audience the meaning and origin of the name “Chana”. She spoke about the dialogue between Eli hakohen and Chana, the prayer in the mishkan, and how the laws of shmonei esrei are based on Tefilas Chana.
The enthusiastic audience persuaded the Rebbetzin to tell a new story. She described a speech that she delivered at the 3rd N’shei Chabad Convention, which Rebbetzin Chana attended. After the speech, Rebbetzin Chana said, “geredt vi an alte chossid” (“you spoke like an ‘elder chossid'”). A few moments later, she told the person sitting next to her on the dais, “dos iz a gebornheit” (“this is an inborn talent”). When Rebbetzin Fogelman heard Rebbetzin Chana’s comments, she was inspired to always use this capability to further yiddishkeit.
The evening concluded with an enjoyable sing-a-long led by Tirtza Philips on her guitar.
It was a beautiful evening of entertainment and inspiration.

So good to see the pictures of Rebbetzin Fogelman and her community. I have such great memories as a student in the Worcester Bais Chana High School and the amazing warmth, family-like setting and inspired Chinuch through the example of Rabbi and Rebbitzen Fogelman
that still pulses through my daily life. I am forever grateful.

Worcester has always been such a warm and loving community, and I consider myself very blessed to have been raised there.
Rebbetzin Rochel Fogelman…my teacher , my mentor and a true Aishes Chayil and inspiration to all those who come in contact with her. She is a wealth of knowledge and has many personal and uplifting stories of her early Shlichus to Worcester and the Yechidusin and correspondence she merited to have with the Friediker Rebbe and Rebbe. May she and her husband Rabbi Hershel Fogelman be blessed with Arichas Yomim Vshonim Tovos and a Gut Gebentched Yar!
