More than 250 people recently attended a kosher wine and spirits tasting in Brooklyn, New York, featuring brands from around the world, including Israel, Portugal, Chile, and Italy.
Allied Importers USA, a family-owned importer and distributor of wines and spirits based in New York, hosted a portfolio tasting on February 19th. This was an invitation-only, exclusive event open to members of the trade.
It took place at The Arches in Crown Heights and highlighted Israeli wineries, such as Dalton Winery, Gvaot Winery, Beit El Winery, Hayotzer Winery, and Borgo Bella wines from Italy. Guests were also offered a chance to taste a curated selection of American whiskey from various distilleries and the liqueur brands Hoebeek and Misceo.
The Allied Importers event additionally had a bar with a cocktail menu that showcased some of the company’s popular brands. The Allied Martini resembled a spiked iced coffee by featuring Misceo Coffee Liqueur with Hoebeek vanilla-flavored liqueur and cold brew coffee, while a new spin on the classic cocktail Old Fashioned featured O.K.I. Bourbon with sugar and bitters. For chocolate lovers, Allied Importers offered a cocktail called Hoebeek Choco Mocha that mixed Hoebeek chocolate liquor with Alida Tequila and Cointreau.
The attendees included restaurant and wine shop owners, caterers, and buyers from all segments of the hospitality industry.
“It was a great opportunity for members of the trade to taste through our portfolio,” said Shai Ghermezian, Vice President of Allied Importers. “It was a great success and many people came away quite happy and impressed at the quality and selection that Allied Importers has to offer the kosher market.”
