November 20, 2011 5:52 pm

The men get more hours and weekend hours while the women get what’s left..

Swimming Lessons
November 20, 2011 2:58 pm

I was very disappointed with sleepaway camp for my son when they didn’t bother giving the lifeguards time to teach the kids how to swim. “Normal is boring” was their anti-good chinuch motto and all sorts of things preempted swim instruction. Boo!

Lessons for boys
November 20, 2011 1:27 pm

Yes we do offer lessons.for boys contact shmulie at 917-608-4545, leave a message he will get back to u..

how about swimming lessons
November 20, 2011 11:41 am

I don’t mind paying a couple extra dollars, To have my children learn how to swim. When I grew up, we were taught how to swim . My husband still to this day doesn’t know how to swim. Just a thought.

Use Salt Water instead of Chlorine
November 20, 2011 10:52 am

Many public pools are sensitive to the dangers of Chlorine and instead use Salt Water. Safety first. Try it!

I would love to go
November 20, 2011 10:38 am

I teach younger girls and feel uncomfortable going in the pool when they are . would it be possible to make a time for ladies over sem age separately with no overlapping

You can help with donations..
November 20, 2011 12:42 am

To all of you I see what you are saying. Its would be nice if someone can help out with money.. Everything you say sounds nice “yeld vyalda” there is not enough money do do things we would like too.

Agree: Cold & too much Clorine
November 20, 2011 12:34 am

To management: You don’t need aditional heaters, you just have to put it on more. I know it cost more… 2: The clorine is terable. Get expert advice. 3. Why are there camras in the pool?

Does anyone know where this pool is located?

aha moment
November 19, 2011 11:41 pm

its freezing and the changing rooms are filthy. sorry charge more and clean up and heat the place and you will see more people coming

set it up for exercise
November 19, 2011 10:18 pm

devote the entire length of the pool for lap swimming and you will get more people there to exercise. devote a half hour or hour only to lap swimming and lessons, and an hour to playtime for kids. and keep the place clean and warm. the nicer it is, the more people will use it. lots of people run to yeled v’yalda and pay more because it is clean, warm, and set up for exercise.

you can too
November 19, 2011 9:56 pm

reduce the chlorine by using baking soda for 2/3 of the water, look on line for a safer way to keep the pool clean ,my skin turns yellow from the chlorine,l use to swim a lot and yes m.shabbos would be best for women and yes the pool should be pleasant temp, not hot nor to cold and when people get out of the pool the warm sauna should be working

Goggles
November 19, 2011 8:17 pm

I have my lifeguards check the pool 3-6 times a day to keep the chemicals in order and up too code. Some kids are more sensitive them others. Make sure they wear goggles..

Too much chlorine
November 19, 2011 8:07 pm

My daughter also went swimming recently. She also felt ill from the chlorine. She loves swimming but is not able to swim there if there is no change in the chlorine.

no complains
November 19, 2011 7:58 pm

i used to go when living in CH, in teh winter, and for me was always fine. good to exercise.

problems
November 19, 2011 7:56 pm

1.tooo many people ikn the pool all u can do is stand
2.it used to be $2 nobody will go for $4
3. the water IS very cold by the time u get used to it the time is up

Too much clorine
November 19, 2011 7:03 pm

There is way to much clorine in the pool. My daughter went last year a few times and came home feeling ill from the clorine. No she didn’t swallow it. She’s a great swimmer. I understand that there are regulation regarding keeping the pool clean. We’ve been to many pools and did not have issues with the clorine. It definiey needs to be looked into. On a positive note, it’s a great source of fun and excersise.

In London....
November 19, 2011 7:01 pm

We used to have swimming lessons in school. Can this not be arranged? I know there’s tons more kids, but maybe to go once a month or somehting like that?

Parent can go with their children, kids cannot go with adults.. As for heating yes its heated we are working in adding more heaters. Price went up to keep the pool running..

how rude!
November 19, 2011 5:49 pm

why do men get 2 hrs n woman only get 1 1/2 hours?

Montreal
November 19, 2011 11:44 am

Don’t complain about the price going up from 2$ to 4$ the money needs to come from somewhere… But here in Montreal, it is 5$ and once you hit 12 years old its something like 12$!!!!

Great idea!!!
November 18, 2011 3:43 pm

My mother goes regularly, and she feels great!!! Stop kvetching everyone and jump in to do your exercise!!!

cold?
November 18, 2011 3:42 pm

is the pool heated??

price
November 18, 2011 3:37 pm

still a great price, even though it’s now $4.
how do you expect them to be able to keep it open for $2?
everyone needs to get paid. and if only 3 people show up, that doesn’t cover the two people working! $4 wont cover it either!
🙂

Another concern
November 18, 2011 3:20 pm

I think it’s great for the comunity. I took my kids three times last summer let me describe to you what it’s like, in the deep end its very pleasant as very few kids can swim there. the shallow end is way too deep, I believe the rope is at 5 feet or close to it which is too deep for most 8 even 9 year olds (to give you an idea), there were at least 80 kids swimming/splashing and bumping into each other as there was no room to move but i’m not complaining about that, my real concern… Read more »

a few concerns
November 18, 2011 2:42 pm

I’m really happy your opening again. But can I complain about a couple of things. First of all 5 and 6 yr old kids need there parents with them… My kids won’t go alone in the pool. so Is that allowed? Also the timing for women is terrible. why would you make it thurs night when shabbos is early and every women in ch is cooking! just a few concerns.. but good luck sounds amazing. please consider changing times a drop

GREAT!!
November 18, 2011 2:29 pm

But I’ve found it crowded and unorganized. Not good for serious lap swimming-everyone doing their own thing. I would like to see some time set aside for lap swimming for women. That would be amazing!!! And did the price just go up from $2 to $4.??

Thank you
November 18, 2011 1:58 pm

I agree 100% it so important for your well being to do exercise!

You went up the price $4 when it was $2 for a family it’s a lot could you please give a discount for a family… as everywhere else, we want to come back … thx

I went many times 2 years ago
November 18, 2011 1:49 pm

and the water int he winter was always cold… i complained and my kids complained… I would like to go but it takes 45 minutes to get the courage to get in.

Lifeguard
November 18, 2011 1:34 pm

As a lifeguard this past summer for a Crown Heights day camp (grades 1-6), I found it quite disheartening and upsetting that approximately EIGHT out of about THIRTY children per group were able to swim in the deep end! Parents: it is not just a matter of physical exercise but an issue of safety. Your children will be around pools many times and should have the ability to swim for their own safety. I’ve seen teens in the pool with life jackets! I also once saw a teen who couldn’t swim being thrown into the water by her peers. I… Read more »
