It has been over a month since the horrific attacks on Jewish people began. Unfortunately, I have now seen exactly what unfolded in the 1930’s in Europe. Yes, there is a huge difference between then and now, but there is also plenty in common.
This week we have a once in a lifetime opportunity, an opportunity to show unity and Kiddush Hashem like no one has ever seen of the Jewish people in nearly a century. It is because of that reason, and the fact that you are reading this article, if you can change your Tuesday plans to attend the March in Washington, you should absolutely unequivocally do so.
Yes, it is inconvenient. Many good things in life are inconvenient, but that didn’t stop you, so it definitely shouldn’t stop you now. People are making the effort to fly in from all over America, we are only a 4 hour drive away, not much longer than a drive to the colonies in the summer.
The Beis Din of Crown Heights has even written publicly about their support. Every Jewish school with the means available, should absolutely make it happen. For those who say they rather learn Torah, you can do that too! For those who say each to their own opinion, I say you are Jewish too!
One of the main reasons for this rally is to show there is no place for Antisemitism. If we don’t show our support for that, who will?
Sincerely,
A Simple Jew.
I want to see the school in ch come out in favor of the high school and up should all be going
Will let the kids go. Its very important!! Someone need to push all schools .( high school)
Teenagers would have easiest time going and could add large numbers to the crowd so why aren’t our schools going as in other communities? Why is it ok for working adults who need to take off work but not students?
But to point out, a student and someone working in the world have different roles. In the most basic terms, a students role is to learn Torah and a baal habus to make a dirah btachtonim
Thank you! I hope all the schools make the effort. No one will look back in 50 years from now and regret standing up with each other in such a nice gathering.
Is all going! Chabad HS in Albany, NY.
We really want to go to show support for isreal and give out Neshek let us go!!
The fact that full shul congregations and young old and middle aged people are finding a way to go, goes to show how our high schools with the teenagers should all be going and showing our support
Close to a few thousand people who can show real support from Crown Heights.
They can add in Tefillah on the long busride- put pressure on them to go
All high schools should attend it is so important for them especially at their age
I completely agree. Even more important that the less affiliated Jewish teenagers go, so they connect with the rest of Am Yisrael.
Where is the emphasis on tefillin? If each crown heights family or Bachurim put up an actual tefillin booth with a big sign, there can be thousands of tefillin during the gathering. What greater impact can you work for?
Everyone should go get the tools necessary for a booth and coordinate with the local Shluchim to strategically disperse around all corners. This could end Galus!
Br should take their whole school imagine what an impact they would make on the crowd! And they would make Kiddush hashem! And a good representative for chabad
What’s the closest train to ralley
I think the best way to go is by bus organized by your local community. If you want to take a train, Amtrak to DC. Rally is at the National Mall. I believe the DC metro station nearby is Smithsonian Station. But the best way to go is by bus organized in your community. It will get directly from your community to the area of the rally, and back home.
The buses from CH were advertised to be free, but it turns out it costs $35 per person
The education the kids will get in one day will have a bigger impact than 100 shiurim or classes.
But schools need to let the teachers and Rebeim go. Rabbonim should have schools cancelled for tomorrow it’s for a good reason and parents will understand.
Students will take off from school and go on their own anyways
There is no busses open to go:( community cousel is closed unless you know other options
If you can’t find buses from the community, there are other options to get to DC: Peter Pan, Greyhound, and Amtrak. The National Mall is located at Smithsonian station.
THE BACHURIM OF BAIS SCHNEUR ARE PROUD TO BE JOINIG!!!!!!
Good for you guys
KINGSTON!!!!!
The organizers of the event are not allowing any booths ( for security reasons) have that in mind if you plan on doing mivtzoim. Also, signs are allowed but not poles.
