Crown Heights Beis Din Rabbonim Rabbi Avrohom Osdoba and Rabbi Yosef Braun have written a public letter encouraging the Crown Heights community to attend a massive Israel solidarity rally next Tuesday in Washington, DC.
In a Public Notice, they write:
National Jewish organizations are calling on Jews throughout the United States to travel to Washington, DC, on Tuesday, Rosh Chodesh Kislev (Nov. 14) for a mass rally of Americans Marching to Support Eretz Yisroel, Free Hostages and Against Antisemitism, organized by two major Jewish organizations (the Jewish Federations of North America and the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations).
Considering the current precarious situation of our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel, as well the strong hostility from some circles to the continued support of the United States government for the Jewish People, we believe it is important to inform the community about this important rally.
There’s no doubt that a large turnout at this event will have a strong impact.
This rally is being worked on by multiple parties who naturally have diverse views in a broad range of issues, but they are all standing united for the cause, as Americans who are in full support of these goals. While we have not received the complete outline of the program, assurances have been made to us that there will be a general commitment to halachic standards, including but not limited to respecting our sense of modesty. We hope to receive more information in the coming days.
In addition to the ongoing tefillos and ma’asim tovim, this is an important keli b’derech hateva to bring about the proper yeshuah.
May we merit to usher in the ultimate yeshuah, the true Geulah now.

With so many people going.. wonder if one would have the opportunity to say this brocho.. or is it said chutz l’aretz with Hashem’sname?
Not only about Eretz Yisroel vs. chutz laaretz, but also whether you have to see all 600000 or just know (such as by police estimates) that they’re there, etc.
Practically speaking, ask your rav and follow what he says.
If my grandfather was still alive today, he would be mortified.
He sacrificed everything to keep and teach Torah in the Soviet Union for us to come to this?!
What is it about this gathering that he’d be “mortified” about? The achdus? The unparalleled chances for mivtzoim?
As a genuine chossid of the Rebbe who was bound heart and soul he would’ve understood how much the Rebbe would not support joining this protest.
Can you imagine how the Rebbe would respond if he were still able to speak?!
This is not our way to show support. Take it from someone twice your age.
How do you know how the Rebbe “would” react to this march? Your age does not mean you can speak for the Rebbe today. No one can. You get one opinion, just like anyone else. And apparently some people feel it’s appropriate to go.
If your grandfather was still alive he would be mortified at your narrow minded view. The world needs to see frum Jews supporting their Israeli brethren and not the token Nturi Karta ”Jews” who are present at every antisemitic rally. I am also sure that you can spend the time while travelling to learn Chitas and do mivtzoim while at the rally.
The world already sees that frum Jews support Jewish life and Eretz Hakodesh. This may be too nuanced for everyone to understand. But if your primary purpose is to go do mivtzoyim it’s one thing but it’s quite another to go mainly for the protest and then also spend your time w chitas etc… And it’s no rally. Highly doubt any organizers plan on sharing divrei Torah, say tehillim or repeat the twelve pesukim or split the men and women, or be careful when woman singing…. It’s just a feel good PR event that makes some noise but doesn’t accomplish… Read more »
And people here are even saying yeshivas should be closed for this…
Is there a cost for the bus? When will we get. Ore details?
Think school should be cancelled for teachers and rebeim to be able to go.
Schools aren’t closed for building the beis hamikdash
We should never stop Torah learning. Everyone who can go should go. Rebbeim should continue doing their holy work on their front
right like math and science? girls can say tehillim on the buses and then only miss afternoon classes that are not torah
Its’ amazing that so many Jewish brothers and sisters can stand together in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisroel. At the same time, we know that the torah learning of our children and students, brings immeasurable light into the world. Every pasuk we learn, every word of Torah shared is our battle here in the classroom. Our students belong in school, fighting the ruchnius battle.
מפי עוללים יונקים יסדת עז!!
When faced with the threat of annihilation, Mordechai Hatzaddik didn’t pull political strings, he went to learn with the children!!
The Torah our children are learning is what assures our victory!
Are women encouraged to go? Will there be separate seating ? Especially for singles..What bathroom accommodations be furnished?
This is a protest, not a concert. If you aren’t physically disabled, you’ll be standing and chanting.
We went to the Washington Rally years ago, it did nothing they still gave away Gush Katif and this war is the repercussions of that! I hope they conquer Gaza and keep it for Israelis! Enough trying to placate the world!
You are right on several points including that this war is the repercussion of the horrific Gush Katif deportation, and that Gaza must be kept, and that the Israeli government must stop trying to placate the world. AND since unfortunately the decision makers in Israel have a rich history in caving to pressure, AND since the PM of Israel unfortunately mentioned the US president in EVERY public speech he gave since the beginning off the war, AND since unfortunately they already caved to pressure from the US in several aspects, AND since the US president’s main objective is his own… Read more »
PLEASE FORWARD: URGENT PLEA FROM COMMUNITY LEADERS: In light of the upcoming event in Washington DC, we strongly emphasize the following guidelines: 1. Maintain an atmosphere of respect and solemnity. It is important to underscore the distinction from recent anti-Israel demonstrations characterized by unruly and even violent behavior. 2. Refrain from any acts of vandalism, littering, or destruction. Recent incidents, such as the display of Palestinian flags and graffiti on American monuments, have provoked public outcry. It is imperative to uphold a standard of cleanliness and leave all surroundings untouched. 3. Consider bringing *American* flags or other patriotic symbols to… Read more »
I like the idea of flying american and israeli flags (and maybe any other country who openly supports israel). show diverse support…
Will the whole point of this demonstration be to impress the goyim and garner support from the American public?
Then we are barking up the wrong tree.
We are Yidden! Are only purpose ever must be for serving Hashem alone! Not mah yoimru hagoyim… They beetzem hold no power over us except for what Hashem allows.
Any other belief is avodah zorah mamosh!
