Due to the recent incidents in the world and the pro-Hamas supporters and protests, all women and children should not walk alone at night, and single girls only in groups.
There have been a few alarming incidents of outsiders seen on the streets of our neighborhood, that I have heard about from friends, that make being informed critical, and advocating that we get the proper security is crucial for the safety of our community.
It is crucial we step up as a community and get proper protection. We must request anti-terror protection for our streets and especially near our children’s Yeshivos and Shuls.
There is a meeting arranged by the Mayor’s Jewish Advisory Council called the ‘Hate Crimes Summit,’ hosted by Devorah Halberstam. Please see the flyer below. There will be top officials joining us – to hear our concerns tomorrow evening at 5:30 pm in the Jewish Children’s Museum. It is crucial that the room is full and we all show up to support and show how important it is that we get extra security, right now, that we are taken seriously and that they follow through with the support we need.
Please, everyone, advocate that our community doesn’t become the next victim chas v’shalom. In regards to Israel, they said it took them two years to plan everything that was planned to the last detail. Let’s advocate that there are hired security looking out for suspicious individuals. Let’s protect ourselves and our children.
Please attend the event tomorrow at 5:30 pm at the Jewish Children’s Museum – we want to hear your voice!

Which parent can be out of the house then 😔
Perhaps reach out to the seminaries and yeshivas and fill the hall with all the “singles” that are in town
would love to attend But the timing really doesn’t work what a shame 🙁
Less Homeless Shelters, means less hate crimes. Not to complicated for common sense citizens.
But for elected officials, someone needs to explain that in their language..
There is 6 homeless shelters funded by NYC/NYS in the process of getting approved for South CH. time to shut them All down (not just Albany/Clarkson but shut them all down, move it to Astoria Queens or Manhattan where they appreciate homeless shelters with violent criminals in there.
Please come and raise your very valid concerns to them directly.
Thanks for bringing this to everyone’s attention.
Respectfully, instead of having a photo op food meeting with all the NYPD Chiefs and NYPD commanders. If 71/77 Precincts would have more police officers PERMANENTLY assigned to 71/77 Pcts, they can respond faster to emergencies (instead of the occasional 20 minute wait after a crime) thus reducing hate crimes. If someone by this meeting can please respectfully, but very firmly make this common sense approach (by Q & A) to the NYPD Chiefs and Commanders that will be there. Crown Heights residents support the NYPD, we help them catch criminals. We ask the NYPD support our community by permanently… Read more »
1. More added Police permanently assigned to CH (permanently, not temporary) 2. Stop the current crime drug homeless shelters that Mayor Adam’s is building in our neighborhood. 3. For all those that may be unaware, there are dozens of emotionally disturbed homeless creeps roaming CH streets every day, up to trouble. Our community patrols volunteers hours every day catching these ppl, the thing in common they are all from the many homeless shelters near Kings County Hospital. Now the Mayor/Governor want to add another 5 more shelters to the area? Speak up by this event. Say it the way it… Read more »
How about we stop outsourcing our security and demand the right to protect and defend ourselves without fear of reprisal?
Arm everyone! And train them well. Allow them to carry everywhere.
And shut down every last single homeless shelter in our dense neighborhood. Wrong place for a high crime magnet. Unless that is the goal to harass us so bad that we come begging for help from the very people who created the issue to begin with. Then they receive more funding to be used to exacerbate the issue further. No more battered wife syndrome! Just say no.
If the perps are released the next day, it’s not the fault of the Police it’s the failed laws.
BTW I think this meeting is about more serious hate crimes due to the war in Gaza and not the ongoing crime that we’ve been dealing with for a few years now.
We need a Summit for the Mayor to understand what we need? Jews were brutally attacked in Israel and are now being threatened in the US. Does the Mayor not understand what is needed now?
For some reason the old timers at the chjcc are shockingly silent about the catastrophe already here and more coming to Ch with all the homeless shelters a lot of strange individuals all over community we must put a end to this.
The streets used to be better lit until the city changed the lighting a few years ago. The streets and sidewalks are quite dark and that also contributes to the lack of safety. Now that we’ll be moving the clock, it will be dark by about 5 or 5:30 when most people still have to go about the business.
Let’s bring up this issue, too. It’s very important.
