About a year ago, most of the world began a 15-day lockdown, and people were looking for reasons to smile.
Then one jolly Friday afternoon, Silly Parsha Questions began popping up in people’s email inboxes. And the smiling began. Laughing, actually!
Silly Parsha Questions, created by Shliach Rabbi Mottel Friedman of S. Paul, Minnesota, is pretty much what it sounds like – a printable page of questions on the weekly parsha – but with silly, and sometimes hilarious, multiple choice answers.
The response to the weekly page was fantabulous! It brought much-needed joy and smiles to people’s homes, and it got everyone to look forward to parsha question time!
Here are some samples of the feedback for the Silly Parsha Questions:
Yossi F. from Hallandale Beach, FL said, “Thank you so much for sending these! My Shabbos meal has never been so fun!”
Ushy B. said, “I cannot tell you how much we appreciate the silly parsha questions. They are so amazing! I guess I just told you…”
Don T. said, “What a great way to teach the parsha and keep the kids interested. It makes a huge difference. Yuge!”
Chanaleh R. said, “My whole family was laughing out loud! And we actually love tofu!”
Minnie Vahn said, “I think I got this email by accident. I did not understand one word.”
Yechiel Michel Refoel Menachem said, “Fun?! Feh! Parsha questions are a serious thing!”
And now, after a year of being sent to an exclusive group, the Silly Parsha Questions, along with an exciting parsha poem, are available for everyone!
You can subscribe to get them both emailed to you weekly by signing up at www.torahpoems.com.
Do it now, before it rains.

My children (and I) enjoy these a lot. Very funny! Thank you.
Hilarious and educational. Does it better than that?
We print there every week and they are a hit each time! And our son’s Rebbi sends them home with him but we still print them just in case! They are a great way to have fun and laughter at the table while discussing the parsha.
I don’t see why tofu needs to be made fun of every week. It’s like an obsession. It’s almost like “don’t eat tofu!” Is this meant to preach to us, or to be funny?
But I still get a huge kick out of it every time he makes a “don’t eat tofu” joke. You gotta take these things with a grain of salt, my friend
(much like tofu. Boom!!)
These are so funny. My kiddies love them so much.
Like snapple, these questions are made from the best stuff on earth.

Hi. It has come to my attention that my name has come up in relation to events I had absolutely nothing to do with. People seem to forget that I am a person, with feelings, not a punching bag. I am collecting documentary evidence of all these malicious allegations against me and will seriously consider taking action! No, I did not split the sea. No, I did not make the golden calf. No, I did not break the luchos. And although i am not a DSIWII1000, i am best friends with one and he or she too would like to… Read more »
I envy everyone that Rabbi Mottel teaches and just as importantly the parents of the kids he teaches.
Great job! 👍
We live in a small town with few frum kids. When my kids have shabbos guests, they always advise them to “wait until we get to the Parsha questions! It’s gonna be great!”
Thank you Rabbi Mottel Friedman
