Following a whirlwind 48-hour trip to Alma Ata, Kazakhstan and back, to mark the yartzeit hilula of Rabbi Levi Yitzchok Schneerson obm, the Rebbe‘s father, the group of Lubavitchers from New York made a special visit.
As the day of Chof Av nearly came to an end, the group headed back home from JFK airport stopped first at the Rebbe’s Ohel in Queens, concluding the auspicious day in prayer.
Also in attendance at the Ohel was US Diplomat Paul Packer, who accompanied the trip to Alma Ata where he read a proclamation from President Donald Trump declaring the Rebbe’s father’s gravesite an official Heritage site in a historic announcement.
After extensive pressure on government officials, along with international ties with US and European governments, only 250 Chabad Chassidim were granted permission to enter Kazakhstan due to restrictions in place due to the current pandemic.
During the 24 hours of the Hillula of Chof Menachem Av, the guests were only allowed to enter Alma Ata, accompanied by the police, for immersion in a Mikveh, prayer, and entering the Holy Tzion of Reb Levi Yitzchak.
The trip included the annual reading of the Pan Klolli.
Once again would like to thank Zalman Fellig and his brothers for their generous philanthropy. The trip was a great success.
