someone told me that I was the first to suggest to them the person to whom their daughter is now engaged… Do they owe me shadchan gelt?
if a boy and girl get engaged from your suggestion, and they are having a catered l’chaim- hall, photog, etc, how can they not pay the shadchan first? how do you say that they aren’t responsible to pay the shadchan first before anything else. the shadchan should have to shnor for their money? show up at the l’chaim? no way. someone from the family should be a mentch and send over the payment right away. this is what we always did for our shidduchim. one time the shadchan lived out of town from us and i sent a check that… Read more »
The only time I have to learn is on shabbos. I can’t watch videos then!! Before shabbos I print learning material to read on shabbos. PLEASE add a written part to the shiyur (at least in point form!). I am sure MANY people would appreciate it MUCH more than the video.
If one called a shadchan for an idea and shadchan contacts you a few weeks later with a suggestion. Boy/girl go out, get engaged… Is it acceptable ( providing shadchan didn’t set a time to be paid) to pay up later then lchaim but before the chassunah? Sometimes it takes a while to put the money together.

If that is the case then before a shadchen suggests someone for your child they should say upfront what they charge.

Much easier to read than watch videos but I do want to know the info
should the shadchan tell you they have a set fee for their service before they tell you a name or should they wait till they go out etc. and then tell you what their fees are
