Mendy, 9 years old, sits at the dining room table, his brow furrowed in deep concentration. He isn’t doing homework or playing a game. He’s writing a story about two friends who got into a huge argument over a swing at recess.
Suddenly, his face lights up and he stops typing. “Ma!” he calls out. “I know how they fix it! If Hashem loves every Yid just like they are – like the Baal Shem Tov taught – then they just need to remember that, and they can make up!”
For Mendy, and hundreds of other children worldwide, the 12 Pesukim are no longer just words recited at a Tzivos Hashem rally. Through the second annual Mymaor Writing Contest, these foundational teachings are becoming real, breathing life lessons.
The impact we are seeing this year is astounding. Children are voluntarily spending hours turning abstract Chassidishe concepts into highly relatable stories. We’ve seen kids write about finding a personal “Yetzias Mitzrayim” to overcome sadness at summer camp, and about how doing a simple Mitzvah is literally building a Dirah B’Tachtonim. They aren’t just memorizing the Rebbe’s Torah; they are internalizing it and taking ownership of their own Chinuch.
