Thank you. When I had nowhere to turn, you saved me.
Seven months ago, I was young, idealistic, and naïve.
One month ago, I was in despair. My shalom bayis was a wreck. We were in thousands of dollars of debt, and my faith in everything was fragile.
Thanks to you, today, I am optimistic about the future. Thank you for saving me. Thank you for lifting me from an abyss of debt and despair.
When my story was shared, you opened your hearts and wallets and donated generously.
You showed me that people still cared and wanted to help.
Although it’s just a start, I’m now working to make a plan to pay off my debt. I’m Iy”h starting a new job this month, and with Hashem’s help, I can see a way out of my financial
difficulties.
Wondering how someone like me, a hardworking young father and husband, ended up in such a situation?
Seven months ago, I began a new job, working for a New York Moisad, excited to fulfill the Rebbe’s Shlichus here in the Rebbe’s Shechuna. My salary wasn’t much, but together with
my wife’s meager salary, it was enough to cover the necessities for our young family, Baruch Hashem. I was passionate and eager to make a difference.
At the end of the month, I waited to receive my check, but I was told there was no money that month to cover salaries. They assured me that we would be paid in the next few days.
I went home, confident that we just had to make do with credit cards to get through the next few days. It’s been seven months, and I am still waiting for that first paycheck. I’ve gotten a
few hundred dollars here and there, but after working for almost seven months, I still haven’t received even the equivalent of one salary check.
The bills kept piling up. I dreaded looking at the mail and watching credit card statements with figures that seemed to have way too many numbers.
Promises were made, but the money never materialized. I realized that no matter how much I believed in the cause, my family depended on me to provide for them. With a heavy heart, I
began looking for a new job. I realized that although the people running this Moisad had good intentions, with the rising cost of everything, they weren’t able to manage the budget,
and there was simply no cash flow.
At that point, my financial situation had deteriorated to where I needed immediate financial assistance to get me back on my feet. Even with the government assistance I was legally
entitled to, I still needed money for rent, transportation, and other necessities.
When my life felt bleak, you helped me back on my feet. Every dollar you donated helped me pay off my debt and care for my family. Thank you for caring! Thank you for giving!
In the merit of your tzedaka, may you be blessed with a K’siva V’Chasima Tova!
