From a historical point of view

Yehoyachin was not evil, rather this might have been added later to portray him as such. Additionally, the Jews at the time we’re very divided in midst of all the cahos, as to who was the true king of Judah (Yehoyachin or Tzidkiyahu. something even Yirmiyahu also changed sides on)

Thank you!

Missed an important point.
The Rambam in Hilchos Teshuva writes that Yehoyochin was the epitome of a Baal Teshuva.

Thank you
