Several hundred parents joined an evening dedicated to parenting and education, featuring practical and inspiring parenting lessons from a leading and prominent Chabad educator.
The evening’s topic was “How to educate my child with Yiras Shomayim, optimism, and Simchas Hachaim”, featuring an inspiring lecture delivered by Rabbi Aaron Dovid Gancz, who serves as a Mashgiach and senior Magid Shiur in Morristown’s Tomchei Temimim Yeshiva.
Rabbi Gancz challenged the conventional thinking that children do and follow what parents do. He argued that this is not necessarily the case. Instead, he suggested, children do what parents love to do. Hence, effective parenting in our community, especially in today’s day and age, necessitates parents to be passionate about their own Torah study and mitzvah observance in order to inspire their children.
The program was chaired by Rabbi Hershel Lustig, Dean of Oholei Torah and was dedicated in memory of the noted educator Rabbi Isaac Mintz, as his family recently marked his 27th Yahrtzeit.
