For nearly 50 years, Camp Gan Israel has hosted the Global Yarchei Kallah, an annual gathering of Torah scholarship, in Parksville, NY.
Rabbis from around the world would gather to spend a weekend immersed in learning. This year, due to the Covid lockdown, it is being held virtually.
In this short film, Rabbi Avraham Shemtov visits the empty campgrounds and recalls the Rebbe’s cherished reactions to the purchase of the camp and the initiation of Yarchei Kallah.
The Yarchei Kallah is held on Chof Av in honor of the yartzeit of Harav Levi Yitzchok Schneerson TZ”L, father of the Rebbe.
It is dedicated annually by Ronald O. Perelman (Ari ben Rochel) in memory of Gershon Reuven ben Moshe and Rochel bas Avrohom, of blessed memory.

“The biggest Lubavitcher camp”….a whole 200 campers. Over 40 years, zero expansion. Not even a paint job. Sad!
Very well done video and the tochin is even better
Beautiful and inspiring. Thank you, Rabbi Shemtov!
